The AI x Design Field Guide

The AI x Design Field Guide

The AI x Design Field Guide

This workshop aims to bridge the growing information gap between designers who understand AI and those who are still navigating the noise, hype, and buzzwords surrounding it. The session will offer a practical introduction to how AI technologies can be integrated into the design process—grounded in real examples and personal insights. Key topics include: • Understanding large language models (LLMs) and why they matter to designers • Exploring the capabilities and limitations of current AI technologies • Introducing AI tools that can enhance designers’ workflows, with real-world use cases • Supercharging design engineering with MCP, AI agents, and design systems • Using coding agents (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode) to create working prototypes • Techniques in advanced prompting and context engineering • Discussing the future of design and how the discipline may evolve in the next five years This is a working topic and may evolve, but the core theme will focus on how emerging technologies—particularly AI—are transforming the practice of design. The speaker also welcomes input from the local community on specific subtopics they’d like explored during the session.
