In the world of data and AI, we often obsess over precision, speed, and scale — but what about clarity, context, and meaning? Data visualizations are more than dashboards; they are interfaces for decision-making. In the talk I will share how her background in applied linguistics and storytelling influences my approach to designing data experiences that resonate with humans. From navigating fragmented data marts to translating machine-generated outputs into clear narratives, we explore how design can bridge the gap between raw data and real understanding. I then discuss techniques for designing with data (not just around it), crafting user journeys that reveal insight, and ensuring that trust, not just function, is embedded in every chart, metric, or filter.
